Every year, the Ministry of Culture, through the Directorate-General for Libraries and Copyright, awards the National Translation Prizes to translators and publishers, Italian and foreign, who have contributed to the dissemination of Italian culture abroad and foreign culture in Italy.
The prizes represent a recognition of the cultural and professional value of activities carried out in the fields of translation and publishing. In total, the Ministry awards eight prizes, divided into 4 major prizes and 4 special prizes.
For the year 2024, applications must be submitted, exclusively in digital format, through the dedicated online application accessible from March 11th – 12:00pm CET (4:30pm IST) to April 12th – 12:00pm CET (4:30pm IST) at the following link: https://biblioteche.cultura.gov.it/it/contributi/premi-nazionali-per-la-traduzione/Sportello-domande/

The access and participation procedures for the National Translation Prizes are regulated by Circular No. 1 of January 27th, 2021.
