Lecture by Chiara Rostagno: “Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper”

Italian architect and restoration curator, Prof. Chiara Rostagno will deliver two lectures on Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper and on the Impact of Last Supper on Indian Contemporary Art at Kiran Nadar Museum of Art

Chiara Rostagno:

Chiara Rostagno is an Architect, PhD and specialized in the Restoration of Monuments who spearheaded a preservation project of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” between 2016 and 2018. She is the Former Director of Museo Nazionale del Cenacolo Vinciano (The Leonardo’s Last Supper Museum in Milan from 2015 to November 2018).

As of 2010 she has worked as an Architect at MiBACT (the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and of Turism) and is an Adjunct Professor at the Politecnico of Milan, where she has taught Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Museology since 1998. For the current academic year Rostagno teaches the “Landscape as Heritage” course and “Restauro Ambientale”.

In 2015 she became the Coordinator of a multidisciplinary research group for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage to study the effects of climate change. The group is composed of resources from Politecnico of Milan, Bocconi University, the University of Milanno-Bicocca, the University of Salerno, the University of Bologna, the University of Ljubljana and The Jožef Stefan Institute (Ljubljana) and Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR).

Rostagno is currently applying the activities of the University Milano Bicocca and CNR to a research program called “Leonardo” (2019-2023) and head of the educative international program in MiBACT – Direzione Regionale Musei – Lombardia.
She is the author of several books and papers in the field of Conservation and History of Cultural Heritage.
