Dante Cruciani, 25, a resident of Turin, is a bike messenger hard up for cash who decides to borrow some money from a loan shark names Skorpio. Unable to pay it back, he flees to Barcelona. Nina, a flight attendant with a Spanish airline, gets stuck in Turin when the city is shut down by a general strike. After a short stint in prison, Dante returns to his apartment only to find Nina put up there by Dante’s best friend Tolstoj due to overcrowding at the hotels. A romance develops between the two, who must now take a flight together as Skorpio closes in.
