A contemporary dance and physical theatre company based in Lyon, founded by performers, choreographers, and French state-certified dance teachers Maxime Freixas and Francesco Colaleo.
The company has received support from DRAC Auvergne–Rhône-Alpes, the French Institute (France, Morocco, Poland, Italy, and Hungary), the Lyon Metropolis, and the City of Lyon. Its work has been presented at numerous international festivals and venues across Europe and beyond.
Maxime Freixas and Francesco Colaleo began their choreographic collaboration in 2014. Between 2015 and 2017, they were supported for three consecutive years by the Anticorpi XL Network (Italy). In 2016, they also participated in Anghiari Dance Hub (Italy).
MF Company has toured extensively, presenting performances in Belgium, France, Germany, Guadeloupe, Hungary, Italy, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, and Switzerland. Re-Garde
Re-Garde explores the act of seeing—an innocent, lucid gaze that observes the world with irony, curiosity, and delight. Inspired by the unconditioned perspective of a child, the work embraces a freedom to look, question, and affirm.
On stage, two men become reflections of one another, mirrors of their own projections. They are prepared to endure or embrace, to give or surrender, to manipulate or be manipulated, to provoke or be abandoned. Their bodies are as controlled and attentive as their gaze, yet they allow space for moments of release, vulnerability, and breath.
Through an imagined and absurdly dark landscape that nevertheless acknowledges the possibility of brighter shades, Re-Garde evokes a deeply human and sensuous vision of contemporary life. The constant interplay of opposites blurs the fragile boundaries between youth and old age, strength and fragility, reality and imagination, unfolding within a suspended space where movement meets poetry.
