Claudio Filippini from Italy’s Abruzzi region, has proven himself to be an enlightened, talented musician, among the greatest in new Italian jazz. As member of Fabrizio Bosso Quartet, recorded with London Symphony Orchestra a tribute to the music of Nino Rota. His collaborations include Winton Marsalis, Dee Bridgwater, Giovanni Tommaso, Mario Biondi. The empathy with bassist Luca Bulgarelli and Marcello Di Leonardo – the former being a real reference in Italian jazz, the latter one of the most intriguing emerging drummer in Italy – is taking increasingly interesting forms.
His latest studio-recorded album, a celebration of the 10-year artistic partnership with his trio, once again recalls the strong affinity among the three players and clearly shows how he has artistically matured into one of the most sophisticated performers in the European jazz scene.
