Preview: 20th October 2016 at 8pm

Exhibition timings: Monday-Friday 9:30am – 5:30pm

“… from which none of us can escape” explores the narrative possibilities in the photographs of Bruna Rotunnoand Amit Dey. By foregrounding the centrality of fashion in their photographs, this exhibition invites viewers into the world of fantasy. It explores the
eccentric and revolutionary possibilities of fashion. Rotunno’s and Dey’s photographs transform a predictable realm into an infinite universe loaded with the most supernatural and whimsical opportunities. Their use of the trope of ‘fashion’ provides the material coordinates for their female models to traverse time and space. This exhibition uses fashion’s ability to invent forms of consciousness that make the human body and its experience of time open to rediscovery. It explores how fashion engenders the new and therefore
tricks death. How the search of ideal beauty and eternal is engrained in this pursuit. And how this possibility allows overcoming the limitations of nature.

Bruna Rotunno lives and works in Europe and Asia. After graduating in psychology from the University of Rome, she was captured by the magic of photography. She collaborates with various international advertising agencies and with the biggest fashion magazines. She is a video maker and commercials director. Her last publication “Women in Bali” was released a few months ago.
